In 2020, when the world came to a halt because of COVID-19, I found myself feeling stuck. Like so many others, I was isolated at home, uncertain about what the future would hold. But instead of letting all that overwhelm me, I decided to use this time to think about something different. I asked myself a simple question: What if this pause could lead to something life-changing?

I grew up in a small town, living a pretty quiet life. While my friends went on vacations to exotic places, I stayed close to home, dreaming of what lay beyond. The idea of traveling to far-off destinations always seemed out of reach. I had never seen the ocean, and I’d never been on a plane. But during lockdown, I had time to reflect on how much I was missing—and that’s when everything changed.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized that I didn’t want to wait any longer. The pandemic showed me how unpredictable life can be, and it made me realize how important it is to chase your dreams before time slips away.

So, in 2021, when things started to open up, I took a leap and booked my first-ever flight. It was a solo adventure, and I remember the mix of excitement and nerves as I boarded the plane. When I finally arrived at my destination and saw the ocean for the first time, I was overwhelmed. The sound of the waves, the salty air—it was everything I had imagined and more. It wasn’t just about the place, it was about the journey to get there. I knew this was just the beginning.

That’s when I decided to start Sienna Nomad. I wanted to share my story and help others who might feel like I did—dreaming about far-off places but unsure of how to make it happen. I want to show people that it’s possible to travel, no matter where you’re starting from.

Through my blog, I share the things I’ve learned along the way—like how to travel on a budget, where to find hidden gems, and what it’s really like to step outside your comfort zone. My goal is simple: to help others make their travel dreams a reality. Whether it’s your first trip or your tenth, I want you to feel inspired and confident enough to go after it.
